At 0952, Companies 7 and 8 were dispatched to I-95 north behind Boeing for a vehicle fire. Engine 8 responded and arrived quickly to find a passenger van fully involved in fire. The crew stretched an 1-3/4 to extinguish the fire and the combi tool was deployed to gain access to the engine compartment. A few minutes into the attack the gas tank ruptured and then became a flammable liquids fire. With quick reaction, the 30 lb Ansul was put in service to contain the gasoline while the Pro-Pak foam system was being setup. Snozzle 8, at this time arrived on location and supplied Engine 8 with water and assisted with the foam operations. As a precaution, Boeing's Engine 79-1 was summoned for additional water and or foam. After the scene was under control and the vehicle overhauled, crews waited for the removal of the van and then mopped up the scene.
