About Our Department

Proudly Serving Prospect Park Since 1894

The Prospect Park Fire Company #1 is an all-volunteer organization that has provided fire protection and rescue services to Prospect Park, PA, for over 100 years.

As Station 8 within the Delaware County fire system, our dedicated team of approximately 50 volunteers responds to emergencies throughout the borough and surrounding areas.

The department maintains a modern fleet including engine trucks, a ladder truck, and rescue vans to handle residential and commercial emergencies. Our members receive comprehensive training to ensure they're always ready when seconds count most.

Find Your Role

Whether you want to be on the front lines or support behind the scenes, there's a place for you at Station 8.

Firefighter

Front-line emergency responders who handle fire suppression, rescue operations, and medical assist calls. The core of our department's emergency response capability.

Junior Firefighter

Young volunteers aged 16–18 who are eager to learn. Must complete 17 weeks of fire-fighting school to become certified.

Support & Fire Police

Non-suppression roles focusing on traffic control, fundraising support, and equipment maintenance. Essential support for department operations.

Training Provided

World-Class Training

No experience? No problem. We provide comprehensive training to all new volunteers. You'll learn from experienced firefighters and earn certifications that last a lifetime.

EVOC Certification

State-certified Emergency Vehicle Operations Course program for safe apparatus driving.

Firefighter I & II

Professional firefighting certification program covering all aspects of fire suppression.

CPR & First Aid

Life-saving skills certification for medical emergencies.

Specialized Operations

Rescue operations, hazardous materials, and technical rescue training.
